I'm trying to replace the fuel filter on my civic but dont know what parts to take off. Does any one have any diagram of how to take off a fuel filter?

Well, the fuel filter is a black canister on the firewall that has a hard fuel line with a ring connector (it'll be a big brass fitting with a bolt through it), and then another one coming out the bottom.

Take off the top ring connector, and wrap it in a rag. Then take off the bottom one, wrap it in a rag.

Then remove the bolts holding the fuel filter to the firewall.

Taahhhdaaaaahhhh!

i've always unscrewed the gas cap to relieve pressure.
i don't know if it's necessary or not, but that's my step 1.

Wow guys cmon. haha give him a step by step guide.

1. open your gas cap to relieve some pressure, though when you unscrew the hose it'll still shoot out a lil.
2. located the fuel filter. I hope you know what this is since you're chanigng one.
3. grab a couple box wrenches i believe it was 14?
4. unscrew the brackets/bolts
5. unscrew the hose, i even took it out from the end that went to the Intake Manifold
6. Throw away the old canister and put the new one in.
7. Mine I bought was a fram so it didn't perfectly fit so I used zip ties for 1 bolt
8. Tighten everything back up but not too tight you strip stuff
9. Start the car
