fuel filter removal
Hey I lost my haynes somehwere and Im trying to get my fuel filter off to replace it. I can undo the top nut that lets the excess gas pressure out, and I know to unscrew the gas cap to let out the pressure also.
But my problem is that I cant get the lower big bolt off. I dont want to break the mounts or the metal piping when Im trying to torque it.
Does anyone know a site with pictures and how to or does anyone have advice they can give me on the subject. Like am I even doing the right thing.
TIA

Re: fuel filter removal (samdawgsol)
1) place a shop towel under and around fuel filter
2) relieve fuel preasure
3) remove the 12mm bango bolt and the fuel feed pipe from the fuel filter, while supporting it with another wrench
4) remove fuel filter clamp and fuel filter
5) install in reverse order
Hemls Manuals are awesome! hope that helps

Re: fuel filter removal (samdawgsol)
you need to undo the line bolt as well (counterclockwise)after the 12mm bolt. and you should also replace the banjo bolts w/ new ones

Re: fuel filter removal (clemens)
I got the little 12mm off on top of it. The line bolt aint moving hardly at all when I torque on it with a ratchet. ITs causing the whole mount to move also. I guess I could put an extension on the ratchet to get more torque, but I think it might break the fuel filter mount. Any Ideas besides to pray to God I dont break the whole fuel line assembly up there?
