Default so installing a fuel pump...

well i'm installing my fuel pump today and was wondering if there was any
way i can make it easier to install the next time around... the only thing i can
think of is cutting the floor and weld in a piece of sheet metal with a door so i can
access the top of the tank without ever having to drop it again...

just wanted to know if this is too over the top or a good idea...
thanks...

Just drop the tank. Honda did their R&D so you don't have to...

why would you have to drop the tank at all????? theres an access panel under the back seat that leads right to the fuel pump

Go ahead and try replacing your fuel pump through that little plate under the back seat...Good luck to you.

Oh, and if don't feel like taking the seat out, you have the gas cap that's easily accessible through a square metal door..by key or a pull up lever next to the hatch release. Try getting your fuel pump out that way too...

people have installed the access panel successfully.

that's kind of a 'glass is half empty' approach though. get a good fuel pump: oem or a real walbro and hopefully you won't be replacing it a lot anyway.

it's fun dropping the tank anyway, right?
