Disabling the ABS in high mileage 95 Legend
My wife's Legend has 197K miles on it and we are trying to go one more year before getting another car. The ABS is acting up so I thought I would disable it. On my high mileage Land Rover (147K) all I had to do was pull one fuse. There seem to be multiple fuses related to the ABS. I don't want to disable anything besides the ABS. Has anyone done this?
Thanx

although i highly disagree with disabling the ABS system, i believe that if you pull one of those fusees, that will disable the entire system. i know when i had one of the fuses out in my vigor the light came on and i ASSumed the system had been disabled.
what is it that is wrong with your system that you feel you need to disable it to fix the problem?

On my wifes old 97 Accord, the ABS modulator took a dump. The light was on all the time, and the pump would make crazy sounds every time the car was started. All I did was unplug the single orange connector at the ABS unit (under the hood) and the whole system shut down. The bonus was the ABS light remained off. This may or may not work on a newer car, but it can't hurt to try it...
Just make sure you plug that back in when you sell the car. You don't want the new owner to think they have ABS when in fact they don't...
