i just installed my TypeR steering wheel but came across couple issues. Does anyone know how to rewire the typeR steering wheel to the 03 typeS plug or get rid of the SRS light?

I've been doing some research because I would like to install a DC5-R steering wheel into my EG. What I have found out is that the USDM RSX airbag is a 2 stage airbag and the JDM ITR for whatever reason is a 1 stage. I want the JDM one and this works out well since my airbag system is a 1 stage system. I imagine this probably has something to do with the fact that you are getting an SRS light.

 

yeah that really sucks i just found that out to as i was looking at both wiring diagrams and called a couple of people. meh.. i get used to it.

 

i like the look of the type-r steering wheel but i would rather put a ep3 steering wheel so i could keep my cruise control

 

you know i was thinking on gettin the ep3 steering wheel and getting rid of my typeR. Does the ep3 one have 2 stage airbags?

 

I believe it does have a 2 stage... I plan on making kind of a hybrid steering wheel that has ep3 parts as well so I can have cruise control. I'm gonna use the ITR wheel and airbag with the back plastic pieces and cruise control/srs reel from an ep3. Done deal!

 

i just want my SRS light to go away but i was thinking on somehow tying in the cruise control from the typeS.

 

well when i took my seats out my srs light came on i just took it to the dealer they cleard it and took it off but if you have k-pro i think you might be able to take it off with k-pro

 

hmmm.. might have to look in k-pro.. i wonder what that would be under for the SRS. when you took out your seats are you meaning you replaced them with different ones? reason my SRS is on is because i can't plug my typeR steering wheel to the typeS SRS.

 

repin it... I have a edm dc2-r wheel in my car right now and the I had to repin the airbag plug to plug into my usdm srs reel.

 

how can i repin it.. the thing is the USDM wheel has 2 plugs and the typeR has 1.

 

no i took the stock seats out and put them back in and after that my srs light came on so i took the car to the dealer and they reset it in the ecu or the srs moduel and it came off

 

hmm im interested in this too. id be running into the same problem with my 03 sedan. i may just say expletive it and go with an ep3 wheel

 

well my bro has an ep3 and he bought this red H sticker on ebay that you put over the black H and it makes it look like the type r steering wheel kida ghetto but i think it looks fine

Ok... I don't know then. I didn't realize it had two plugs I just thought that the plug on the airbag differed from the srs reel plug. hmmmm....
