Default Found an S2K

I've been looking around for a while now trying to find the right s2k for me. I came across an s2k in Tracy, CA that I could possibly get. The car was clean on a brief inspection but it seems too good of a find to just be sitting at a dealer.

My question is does anybody have any idea who's s2k this was? It has a comptech SC, header, Exhaust, and it has a front lip and factory hardtop. I figure someone would have to know who's car this once was. Is there something actually wrong with this car or did this person just trade it in and that was that?

Thanks in advance

s2k

I dont know whos it was, but a rule of thumb that I pretty much live by is that "if its too good to be true, it probably is."

When it comes to cars, a lot of people will tell you not to by a modified car. Doesnt matter how good it looks. If the car is modded, the previous owner probably took good care of it (hence the good shape), but it probably also means that the previous owner beat on it pretty good too.

Just my $0.02. Good luck!

Well i'm trying to get background info on the car so see maybe it is a good deal. but if it all falls through and things don't add up the 2nd time around i'll probably just buy a White 07. Thanks all

To me that does not sound like its too good to be true... Dealers dont really look at mods as a good thing, especially big mods like a SC. To them it makes the car even harder to sell than a stock s2000, and what about a warranty? They can only put so much time and resources into a sale.

so whats the problem??

Tell them it's the car you want but you're not paying a dime more then '05 worth plus HT cost. Let them think the SC is a hinder to you for removal and wear & tear

he is actually right. tell them the supercharger wasn't really your cup of tea and that you really didn't care for it. Thats why most people turn their cars back to stock when trading in, they get more for it.

so the first time i went there I tried to talk about the price, but the first words out of the sales manager's mouth was the price is not negotiable. so the car is about 900 ish above retail value for a 05 with a hardtop since kbb.com adds for that since it's a factory part.

I figured I would run it by h-t and see if anyone knew why this person just traded it in with all this stuff on it. well thanks for the replies everyone. When i see it the 2nd time I might have a new car

very true. some people just dont report their incidences, and repair it themselves.

I'd rather have a stock one for that price.

i see what your saying about carfax, but i also see that it was with civics and integras which can easily be fixed(ive fixed a couple of civics my self and never reported it). but then again if something happened to my s2000, i wouldng go that route and get it fixed professionally.
