Every now and then after ill be driving for a little while my check engine light will come on... everything still runs fine but it seems like my car is burnin more gas... i think i may have an exhaust leak but other than that nothing else is wrong?...

Also sometimes when i start my car and start to drive it seems to hesitate and backfire for a few seconds and then itll go and drive fine the rest of the drive... what could cause that?

 

What code does it throw ?

 

map sensor homie, either you have a vac leak or your sensor is fried. Check ALL the vac lines that go into the sensor. especially the one that connects to the hardline on the firewall.

alright guys ill heck the vac lines, get the code, and replace the map sensor... thanks ill let you know if anyone has any other suggestions please leave em here, lol

 

I wouldn't replace the map sensor just yet.

Check the lines and get that code. A bad o2 sensor can make your car buck like that.
