I'm working with a tight budget right now, so i've been putting this off for a while now. Wanted to find out what you guys thought it might be, before I go on and spend money I can't spare, and it still not fix it.


WHEN IT HAPPENS: Knocking that started on just the right side and on hard left turns. Has started to knock as well now on the left side. Sounds like it's coming from the axle area...

If i'm taking a turn lets and it starts knocking; as SOON as I put the clutch in, or shift into neutral, the knocking STOPS. If I put it back in gear, it starts again.

Has started to sometimes do it as i'm driving in a straight line on harder acceleration, or after a hard turn. Then usually stops, but it sort of seems like it's always knocking just very very quietly. Not sure anymore, as i've been driving with it like this for a few months now.

Axle boots look okay... People on here have told me that it doesn't matter, they still may be messed up inside the boot. I've always thought though, that axles that need to be replaced make more of a clattering. This is definately more of a knocking noise, and it also is speed sensitive. Meaning, if i'm going fast, the knocking repetition is FAST. If i'm in a tight slow corner, it knocks slowly.

Please don't just jump in here and say "replace the axles!" unless your sure, because as I stated, I don't have money to replace them, and it end up being something else, and the car break down leaving me stranded.
