Just did this myself. I changed out plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. I tried the NGK V-powers too, and it turns out thats what it already had in it. I will personally go with Splitfires next time around. The plug wires I used were cheap as can be. Napa mileage plus wires for $18.50. They have excellent rubber end caps on both the distributor and engine side and a 50,000 mile guarantee. Car feels great and runs strong.

He is, unfortunately. He thinks that Splitfires give you a couple extra horsepower, and that his butt dyno is accurate enough to feel it

I could be completely wrong about the Splitfires giving you a bit more horsepower. I'm not sure, but I swear I can feel a slight difference in power when using them on both cars and motorcycles.
As I said before, you can easily pop one out and have a look. The spark is definitely brighter and more intense than average spark plugs. (it's really obvious and easy to see the difference.) They only fire from one electrode, so no redundancy. They are almost the exact same price as NGK V-powers so I will definitely take them for a spin in this car after I put 10k or so on the V-powers.
Also: The NGK V-Powers make pretty much the same claim, "better ignitability, increased fuel economy, lower emissions, increased anti-fouling characteristics" Sounds like the same thing as Splitfires to me, just on the electrode end instead.
It's all good if ya don't believe it guys. I have tried em before, and I would definitely use them again.
