gas cap problem

Default gas cap problem

ok i have a buddy with a 89 crx with a b18a1 obd0
his problem is when he takes off his gas cap it sprays out fuel
what could be the problem

the vent line to the charcoal canister could be plugged.

Demonic gas tank?

Hmmm...... I have no idea what it's called but there's a little hinged flap that stays shut unless you insert the gas nozzle.... maybe this is failing somehow and not containing the pressure in the system?

there is no charcoal canister we pluged it but we where thinking that was it but we unpluged it and it still happens

that thing you plugged coming out of the firewall for the charcoal canister is suppost to be a vent, route a hose that goes fromthat to where the charcoal canister vented to its right under your shock tower thers ahole

yes i know it is not pluged now and it still sprays fuel out the gas cap

Mine does this too! My charcoal canister is still in the car though. I know the pressure isn't supposed to be that much but I don't know what to do about it.

The fuel filler pipe has a vent line attached to it. The vent line could be damaged or blocked.

After searching it seems that if you weren't to have any pressure then there would be a problem. Our fuel systems are pressurized therefore causing the hissssss.

it is more than a hissssssss it is spraying fuel out of the gas cap when you take it off. the fuel pressure is whay to high to
