alignment getting worse? clunk under hard braking?
91 si hatch.
i installed a new wheel/quick release/hub set up, dont think that has anything to do with it.
the cars alignment is getting worse and worse with every drive, pulls very hard to the right, out of no where this happend although i did notice it get worse after i braked really hard for a few turns. when i did brake hard, i heard this loud CLUNK, sounded like my header hit the ground, but it didnt. im thinking something shifted, possibly being pulled forward by the weight of the motor and the momentum of the car, hence now being out of alignment.
i havent crawled underneath it yet, plan to in about an hour when the car cools.
tia.

pulling is a indicator of brakes, bad toe or bushings.
clunking is usually related to something like your upper ball joints.
lift a front tire off the ground and hold the tire at 12 and 6 and push in at the top and out at the bottom and wiggle it doing that if it clunks its bad.

something broke. probably your crossmember. jdm or stock, check front and back crossmembers. theres nothing but looking closely under your car that will find your problem.
Props to putting money into a wheel/quick release hub when your car dosent drive down the road straight. I hope you dont drive in my area you goof. Take it to an alignment shop and have it inspect before your hurt someone.

And how .....
but as for the problem im thinking the clunk has nothing to do with the problem, and you have a seized caliper on the side its pulling towards
Thats just my 2 cents!

um, youre a *****.
first of all, the problem started AFTER the wheel and quick release were installed. second of all, the steering wheel has nothing to do with this problem. just because its a quick release set up doesnt ******* mean its going to come off because the cars out of alignment.
anyway, tonight i replaced the brakes, checked tire pressure, got underneath and checked all the ball joints, bushings and wheel bearings. nothing moved, nothing looked blown own or broken. i cranked down the rack and pinion and rear cross member bolts to make sure they were tight and they were. the rear mount is a hasport mount and seems to be bolted down and functioning properly.
still have no idea what the clunking is, its only under REALLY hard braking, like going from 60-0 as fast as possible without locking up the brakes. ill drive it tomorrow after work and hopefully get it to an alignment shop.
btw, im new to the ef family. 3rd honda.
this is the car i bought:

I have been having a crappy day and this made me laugh. Thanks so much. Please dont call me a ***** too. I was just saying I thought his reply was funny. Is GOOF a Canadian term, that is the best part.
It reminds me of the people that just bought a honda with a blown head gasket and a snapped timing belt and ask what kind of 19's they should buy when they are done.
Anyway, I have a clunk on my 88 Si that I cant track down and I have replaced every damn thing in the suspension, as well as the motor mounts. Hopefully there is a guru here that knows the answer to our problem. It really only does it it the rain though..go figure.
