poly LCA bushings
Hey,
I'm installing a set of poly control arm bushings (ES) on my mom's Civic. It's just her daily driver.
I don't have access to a press. I'm only doing the front LCAs. The front bushings will be easy, but the rears I'm not so sure about. Is it possible to force the poly into the mount sleeve without a press? It seems slightly compressable but I don't want to cut out the old bushing and find out I can't finish the job properly.
If I'm not being clear, let me know and I'll post some pictures later on tonight.
Thanks a lot, guys,
Isaac

I'm talking about the one piece bushing for the rear pivot on the front LCA. Will it really just pop in? I know the two piece bushings are easy to install, but there's no interference on those ones..
not to keep replying to myself, but in case anyone ever searches..
i ended up drilling the perimeter of the one piece bushings, which may or may not have been necessary, and bashing the entire piece out with a 1 1/16 or 1 1/8 socket. putting the new poly one piece bushings in required some jerry-rigged pressing with a bar clamp and some pieces of wood, but it did go in relatively easily. i bet heating it up would make it even easier. a long bolt, nut, washer, and big socket would make it a+ easy.
i also got a tap and cleaned up the messy threads relatively easily.
thanks for your time, guys.

because the hole i had to tap was in the crossmember, not in the control arm. a new control arm would have fixed nothing. also, a new control arm would have had rubber bushings which were the whole problem in the first place. so really this was worth it.
