Default What motor swap is good for me?

hello everyone! I have a 1994 Honda Del Sol SOHC NON V-TEC. I was wondering if the best bang for the buck? Heard the B20 is pretty good and easy! I was wondering what parts I should keep? will the wiring harness stay with the ECU? What should I keep cause some kid wants to buy my SOHC motor when I pull it out in a few weeks! let me know guys thanks!

I dont think the B20 will pass BAR because it is a LIGHT TRUCK motor in a car...seriously an integra LS B18B would be good for you

To answer your question sell the motor with the engine harness if you get a b20 you never know if it will come with one depending on the car. Like I said ^^^^ the cheapest way to get some power is turbo first the swap out that tranny and get vtec head should cost $1500 give or take.

H22's are nice...that is unless you actually care about being able to turn your car. H22's are HEAVY. Go B-Series. B18B (integra LS) cheap, decent power, plus you can always throw a b16 head on it, or go turbo

the weight difference between an h22 and b18 is less than 100lbs. so there goes your theory.

Answer this question or remark is no, many threads have been written stated that the H22/H23 weigh roughly 100-150lbs more then D-serious and B-serious motor. Its like adding another passeger in your car. The H22 motor in its self is amazing, street radial and drag radials need to hook up all that trq.

Just keep your old wiring harness just in case never know if the new motor harness was hack. On another note why are you swapping your motor?

H22A is a heavy motor= Misinformation

They are only about 50 lbs more than a B series, not like 200 pounds.

Id recommend you and LS(B18B). Easy swap and cheap with lots of torque anddecent hp. A turbo or VTEC head swap could be put in later for more power .

B16As are too high priced and they are known as the torqueless wonder because all you do is rev to get torque that you dont have in the lower RPMs. Very little torque is not so good on the city with stop and go traffic. B18B gives you great bang per buck.

A B20 is fast but if you decide to go B20/VTEC it will need some knowledge otherwise you will blow it up soon.

B18C is fast too but a bit expensive.

Either a B18B or B18A or SI tranny with turbo.

LS motor cost more then a B16 swap on Hmotorsonline.com Vtec brings a smile even more turbo+vtec= LS/Vtec or B20/Vtec would require you to know something about motors, don’t know how extent your car knowledge is. On that note B20 has weak cylinder walls and don’t like to see any detention.

Thank you for pointing that out. H22's are not sand bags in your engine bay.

True, but I always tend to buy my motors from their not sure where the gay is planning on getting his swap. Long story short you cant have people tell you what to swap. Ask your self this what do you want the swap for are you going to drag race, auto-x or daily then start from their

All depends on your budget.

I'm being patient and saving up for my H22/b16 trans swap.

It's the new black.

But I'm considering going the impatient route and taking out a small student loan and doing the swap.

All in good time.

I vote for LS if you want bang for buck with potential.

I don't live close enough to Atlanta to need emmissions or Smog tests.

About 15 miles closer and I would though, so I bet we will within the nest 5 years.
