ok guys i tried searching for this one, and found nothing retaining my problem..
basically i have a 96 ex coupe.. i believe thats a a em1?? anyways.. when i push on the climate control to blow hot hair to my face, it goes to the far outside vents.... when i push to put it on defrost, it puts it on all four vents... and not defrost.... and in colorado.. with no front defrost sucks..!! the guy told me it has a front end si swap, plus a full interior si swap... any ideas what the hell is going on with my climate control?

Sounds like a wiring issue to me. Front end swaps are a bad idea if you dont know what your doing, and it sounds like this guy screwed you over. Just for the record your car is an Ej8, if it were a real SI, then it would be an EM1.

Solution, your just going to either have to deal with mismatched climate control buttons, or get a new wiring harness for your climate control unit, and get it done correctly.

So you have a '96 EX coupe (EJ8) with a '99-'00 front end swap AND a '99-'00 climate control swap, right?

If that's right, and you have the electronic climate control instead of the climate control with the slider, then it sounds like you might have a wiring issue. It makes me wonder how this was all installed.

 

well its got the slider for like heat - cool.. and 1,2,3,4 but for choosing for the face, or feet, or defrost.. its push button.. lol.. ill try to take a pic.. idk if its the one that originally comes in a 96 ex or not.... i cant find any pics..

About your climate control, sounds like the unit might be busted or something. I have a em1, and I have a different problem.... when I have my vents closed (light activated), some how it opens up (light off) when I turn off/on the car. Someone said it was the unit itself, damn ebay got me again

lol sorry to hear that... my looks like the 96-98 usdm one... but ya its screwing i plan on taking it apart this weekend and seeing if maybe something is different.. it has a b18b1 swap into it.. no i didnt do it... so that might be my problem too???? not sure.. help!

 

Damn, I got the same exact problem. It was working fine one day and then all of a suddenly it went koo-koo on me.

Now I have to press the defroster(Blowing the windsheild) so it can blow through the front vents.

If i press the windsheild & feet it blows front and feet
and etc etc.

It's weird.
