Default Air Compressor?

What is the best air compressor to get on the market if your living in a apartment? I friend want to pick up one? How many gallon and not to noisey and lastly good enough to regular maintence stuff. Oh almost forgot gotta be mid size so it wont take up to much garage space. Share what you have and experiences of air compressor.

Lowe's sells portable ones in an ~ 1/2 gallon size container that you can use to use impact hammers, impact drivers, etc.. on. They're refillable and they only cost $99.

They're so small you can clip them unto your heavy duty belt.

Since you said not noisy i vote the Craftsman perfessional 15gallon. Its a very quiet machine, you could have a conversation while its going off unlike the regular craftsman compressors.

But if space is the issue a good ridgid 4 gallon tank will do the trick, it will do everything but axle bolts and cranks. But there a little on the loud side unless you make a silence area for it.

small tanks need to kick on more often to refill
so i recommend you get the largest you can afford that will satisfy your space requirements.

yeah if yuo have to wait for that compressor to compress air all the time it'll take you a while to do anything with the air tools. might as well get the big rolling ones. thats what i got. and when i think its too loud i put the trash can on it and it makes it quieter

If you have some extra carpet throw a few layers on top of it.

Works great.
