Sorry to bring this back from the dead...

This may seem like a bad question... but has anyone had any luck with the Vitara sets made by Y.C.P.? I see these sets mated with Eagle rods on Ebay all the time.

Actually I looked into it further and some believe that the ebay Auctions is a HT member that was trying to ghep others get into Viatara aftermarkets. The OEM Viatara pistons were never the ones to get. The aftermarket replacement Viatara were the ones. I will try and find some other threads to link to... but just search old stuff for Viatara and I think you will find what you need.

You want the vitara piston that y.c.p made because they are heat coated or something like that. You don't want the oem vitara piston. And I believe they now offer them in 75.5mm bore. fjt is the guy you want to contact for your vitara piston needs. He is on honda-tech.com, d-series.org, and turbod16.com.

LOL @ you using vitaras...(a few of the posts weren't deleted), why would you bash me for being a "cheap ***" about wanting to use vitaras but 2 months later it's ok for you to use them?

LOL.

I don't think he's really banned though, normally the %age and post count both go to zero when a person gets banned, I think he's just in timeout as a trial user status because he did something to **** off a mod, or uneccearily thrashed several of someone elses threads

What I found funny about the whole thing was he called me a ricer for wanting to use them, but yet he had some taiwanese wing with a CF look sticker(that was peeling) on it and couldn't tell that it was fake CF, then he got all pissed off when I didn't buy it(he originally claimed it was an APR mugen style, as soon as I saw the pics it was obvious it wasn't made by APR or real CF)

You do not want the stock vitara pistons from the dealership. YCP is a manufacturer that produces the ones you want. Dont let anyone tell you they are a forged piston, because they are not. They are however coated with a substance that makes them substantially more tolerant of higher temp levels. Contact fjt on http://www.turbod16.com. He also sells a kit with the pistons, rings and bearings for around $265. (calls it a bottom end kit)
