My car gets this rattling noise when i start it up sometimes, and goes away after a while. I been wondering where or what the noise was. It also comes on when im idle with the AC on, was wondering if anyone can help me out on this noise dilemma.

 

It's a Heat Sheild most likely. Mine does the same thing sometimes and it drives me insane. Chances are it's the shield that is in between the cat and the underside of the chassis.

 

Thanks man, it was the heat shield under the cat. I fixed it the other day, and now i don't hear it anymore. Also i have another problem, sometimes I get this violent shake when i go from a red light or from a stop. Could it be an air-flow issue or something else?

Out of curiosity, what did you do to fix it? I have the same rattle and figured out it was the heat shield ('99 LX) but I haven't been under the car lately so haven't had a chance to see what it would take to stop the rattle.

For me, the only time I notice the rattle is when I first put the car into gear from a stop (manual transmission).

Hey mine was doing the same thing, i just ripped the S.O.B off, it was getting on my nerves.

 

i took it to where i got my flowmaster mufflers put in and they made the bolts that were loose on my heatshield tighter with a tool, it was free~ :D hope this helps


I was also wondering if anyone knows how i can change my interior lighting???

 

Interior lights meaning.....?

 

i want to change my stock interior lighting for the dashboard, and speedometer area to a different color, and i was wondering where or how i can do it without those tacky neon lights that stick onto the dash or other areas.
