for stock, i wouldnt use anything over a stage one, which will still allow you to use your stock valvetrain, assuming you dont rev any higher. itr/ctr cams are a pretty good cam for the price, as you can find them around 300 bucks used, for the pair.

GSR cams, cheap, plentiful and adds some power worth it's cost (100$ normally).

GSR cams on a b16 and near IDENTICAL on a dyno chart with a 3+hp gain and equal torque i believe.

not worth doing all that work for a negligable power gain.

as of now i have intake and exhaust. i plan to do header, high flow cat, and possibly type r intake manifold(if its worth it). then i would like like to do cams but i was confused as to which ones i should go with, but at the same time i would like some decent hp gains (who doesnt!). but really thats all i plan to do just to make it at least somewhat quick...

with the mods you described, i'd go with ITR/CTR cams. a few more ponies, and will respond well to the little bit of mods you already have.

i went with itr cams and manifold because my cousin had them laying around. i also went with crower valvetrain. dual springs, retainers, and valves.

i cant complain. it pulls good. chirps fourth...so i cant complain. i'm sure that i can get a bit more out of them with a good tune.

yeah, and if you got an automatic b16, you would probably feel more of a pull if you took the cams out

The cams are cool, i wouldn't bother with the Type R manifold though, its proven the 2nd gen B16 intake (P30) gives more power up untill 8000rpm, so it a better choice in terms of an upgrade. Heck, even on full B20 vtec conversions, the P30 made more power.....something to think about.

im just curious as to why most of u are stearing me away from bigger cams such as the stage three...will it not make much of a horsepower gain???...and if i do go stage 3 (blox stg 3) what else should i consider besides the valve springs and retainers???

Answer is easy....

You NEED really high compresion to get good power out of big cams, as well as spring, retainers, and most definitly some quality tuning as stock spark/fuel maps won't really cut it

If you plan on going with stage 3's, you will definitely need a very good header, head porting, cai, and tuning.

why spend that much on BLOX cams, when ITR/CTR are cheaper and will give probably the best gains considering the mods you have done now.

stage 3's will require at least 12:1 compression to make good power
