Default A different overheating?!?!?!?!

97 accord EX 108k miles

after i stop from driving like at a stoplight, the temperature guage slowly rises to about 3/4 of the way from the overheating mark. there are absolutely no leaks, the fans all run and work, the t-stat is new and properly installed, and its not a blown headgasket. any ideas?????????????

it could be as simple as low on fluid. How do you know the t-stat is good? just because its new, doesnt always mean its good. New parts can be defective. The rad cap could be poor, and not holding the pressure in as it should. best thing to do is a coolant pressure test and see if it holds. then go from there.

i dont KNOW the tstat is good but when i let the engine warm i feel the the upper and lower rad hoses and both are warm

there may be an air bubble in the system - burp it using the bleed valve.

Drain the coolant back out, open the bleeder valve, and refill. The heater should be turned to full heat. Read up on the system in the link below.
