Default New to Honda Tuning and Forced Induction Question

Hey everyone, I'm new to the Honda tuning scene and I have a few questions for anyone who can help me out. First off, I've got an 89 CRX Si with a few modifications: 2.5" Magnaflow Exhaust, K&N Cold air intake, NGK spark plugs and wires, and a Neuspeed short shift kit. All of this was installed on the car when I bought it. This coming summer I am planning on doing (or getting a shop to do) a B20B swap and after that is done I am going to be looking into forced induction for the motor. Now I know how a turbo works, and I know how a supercharger works, and the benefits of each, blah, blah, blah, so my question is which is the easiest to install from a beginners perspective? I do have some mechanical tendencies so that shouldn't be too much of an issue, but this car is my daily driver and I can't afford to have it sitting in the garage for too long. Thanks everyone!

both shoudl be about the same... with a supercharger you have to isntall belts. with a turbo you hav to install charge piping. most people make ther pipes custom as most kits are for 92+ civics and do not fit withoguth body modifications.

now.... the nice thign about super chargers is most of htem dont need oil feeld / return lines like a turbo. so that makes it a little easier its kind of anoying welding a fitting onto yoru oil pan

yeah thats kind of what i was thinking, it will probably be some sort of junkyard set up unless I can find a supercharger on ebay or something for fairly cheap. I've never seen a supercharger for a civic before, so does anyone have a picture, just so I know what I should be looking for?

Superchargers are much more user friendly. All the way around.

if you're going to swap & then boost, you'd better line up another car for daily driving.

you should by Maximum Boost by Corky Bell, and also read the FAQ in the FI forum...both helped me out like only God can know...

i talked to a tuner shop today and priced a B16A swap to the tune of 4040 CAD, which I don't think is too bad, but I cant afford it right now as I'm a poor college student. so i guess my car is staying as it is for the summer, which is really too bad because i was really excited about this project but it's gonna have to wait until I'm done school (next summer), so hopefully I can find another solid engine then.

so this all seems really quick, but i've had another change of plans, and im sticking with this one as i actually have the means and facilities to do it. I'm keeping the stock motor, but I'm turbocharging it. Im going to run a T25 Garrett with a built in wastegate, IC, etc, etc. I'm waiting on some parts in the mail, most namely an adjustable wastegate actuator, fuel management unit, and some electronics stuff to make sure my motor isn't gonna blow up on me. I plan on running around 7 pounds of boost, which should make around 170ish horse. I figure that much power should be fun to drive and still be a reliable daily driver. Sound like a good plan?
