I am wondering if anyone has already done this or know how to install oem cruise control in my 98 civic hatchback. I have a complete 97 civic ex that I already took the power windows, locks, and mirrors out of and put in my HB and now I want the cruise control. Please help me if you can.

 

well i started taking everything out of the civic ex yesterday and it looks like it is alot of work. so far i am going to need the clutch pedal, gas pedal, steering colomn with steering wheel, dash harness, firewall harness, under the hood harness, cruise control module with bracket and the cruise control button. its not that i need the steering colomn but its the same as mine and i dont want to swap everything over. thats pretty much much all i can think of that you need. its alot to do just for cruise control but if ya want it oem its the only way. im sure theres an easier way so please help me.

 

i think the only easier way would be 1. pay someone 2. trade your car for the same thing w/ cruise.

 

I would use a aftermarket cruise system and wire the factory switch into the new system then no changing of wire harnesses just adding needed wiring from switch to cruise

 

thanks.........what could it really hurt trying? i already have everything i need right? i understand its not going to be easy. i seen what it took to take it out of the EX. i was just kind of wondering if anyone has already done this. i know i can do it because i've done plenty of motor swaps, made conversion harnesses, installed power windows, power mirrors, power locks, etc. thanks for your posts and i like to hear what you guys think.
