My suggestion is get a large pair of pliers. Grab around the area where the inlet is and hose is covering. Twist the hose around a bit (may have to "bite" in different areas to loosen up the corrosion) after you get it to twist, you should be able to get it off.
HTH.

x2 or cut it and buy new hoses.

Get a razor blade and cut a diagonal line from the end about 1" down, you can then pry the end up and voila! its off.
money is really tight right now and didnt want to buy a new hose....wouldnt pliers rip the hose though??
if i put a small 1" slice in it....would i still be able to use the hose?

Try sticking a flat head screw driver in between the thermostat housing and the hose, wiggle it around and insert it all around the hose. That breaks it loose too.

From the sound of it you're trying to get @ the thermostat or something of that nature. Just remove the 2 10's that hold the housing together and take it with the hose if you want to preserve it.

put a rag over the hose then use the pliers.

You might want to change to a worm gear clamp if it leaks.
thanks to all of ur suggestions.....i ended up just removing the thermostat housing with the hose attached. although it was tight, i still managed to reach in and grab the defective thermostat.
in the end, my car was running at normal temps again with no problems. i was a happy guy for the rest of the day
