Cutting out old quarter panel?
Wassup guys....I need to replace a quarter panel and was wondering whats the process of cutting the old one of. Whats this i hear about drilling the spot welds? Dont worry i wont be doing it lol i just want to learn about what to expect from the work the shop would do and make sure they do the right job. How do they cut around the quarter panel to remove it? Thanks guys....and if one of you can make a outline with a pic of a quarter even better...thanks
usually you can use a wizz wheel and then under the rear bumper and under where the taillight is theres a seam where the 1/4 panel connects to the back of the car. If you remove the seam sealer and clean it up you will see the spot welds you will need to remove.

theres one guy that did it on a ej if u search u should be able to come up with his pix. its a black car. U just need to have that rear 1/4 glass cut out, then some people just cut it like halfway across the window, or just get everything off that side and u will see all the spot welds like under the window etc.
