205.50.15 or 195.50.15 on a 15x7 wheel ?
what is the pro/con for both sizes and which tire is going to give me the best performance and tire life?
Also which is a better tire for tire life, performance and comfort, the dunlop direzza or kumho Ecsta SPT ?
I live in southern california so snow and rain isnt really a big issue at all.

You don't buy a tire SIZE for performance or for tire life. You buy a tire MAKE/MODEL for performance and for tire life. You buy the right tire SIZE for your car.
For example, if you have a 1992 Integra, it came with 195/60-14 tires stock. You want to choose a tire size whose outer diameter is as close as possible, to keep the speedometer and odometer accurate, to keep the suspension geometry the same, and to keep the tires from rubbing. If you have 15" wheels on a '92 Integra, you can use either 195/55-15 (1.0 percent larger diameter than stock) or 205/50-15 (0.6 percent smaller). You shouldn't use 195/50-15, because it's too small (2.3 percent smaller).

Life - similar
Performance - the SPT is much better than the DZ101
Comfort - similar

Good luck finding a set.
There are a few out there, I just purchased a set, but SPT was discontinued in 205/50/15.

The SPT is not discountinued in that size or discontinued period. They are just out of stock right now! Why would a brand new tire be discontinued?
This as been mentioned many times already that the SPT is not discontinued!

Oh, my mistake.
I was told at the place I purchased them that they were discontinued.

The tread of the 205/50 is 10 mm wider and the sidewall is 4.75 mm shorter. You would have to have a really good eye to notice such small differences.

195 will look stretched. 205 looks a tad bit chunky but gives it a more aggressive look. If you look at my thread labeled Falken Azenis (its recent) you will see a pic of what 195s look like on a 15x7. But to see what 205s look like you will have to give me a day to take a pic. But Azenis run kind of big for 205s so they look a little bit chunkier.
Go with the 205. Looks better. Plus a little wider can't hurt.

It's basically for looks. Yes, 195/55-15 looks stretched on a 15x7 wheel. I think you're better off with a 15x6 or 15x6.5 wheel.
