While finishing up my car i'm still stuck with the cel code 21, vtec solenoid. I have a 1992 honda civic vx with a d16z6 engine, SI wiring harness and p28 ecu. I've searched and found stickied pages with problems concerned vtec and wiring it, but I still don't know how to fix this error. Since I have a 1992 civic and it is prewired for vtec, can I just depin some wires and pin it somewhere else to clear this code? besides wiring the vtec solenoid directly to the ecu is there another way to fix this? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

well vx is a trim with evtec anyway so the wires should be alright take you some wire and see if the solenoid work it might have went bad on ya

 

i took a wire and tap it on the vtec solenoid plug to (+) terminal and i heard the vtec solenoid does click. i haven't done any wiring for the vtec solenoid so i'm trying to see if i can get some help here.
