Default Motor build for boost questions...

So I have a builder LS motor that's been sitting around for about 6 months in my backyard and now I want to start building the block for a LS/Vtec turbo build. First I have some questions:
1. Is it ok to rebuild this block even though it's been outside in the snow(colorado weather)?
2. What machining can I do to it for a turbo build?
3. What internals should I get?
4. Should I rebuild the block to OEM spec or different specs?

My plan is to build the head also but that will come later, but I want the block to withstand upto maybe like 400-500 HP on boost. I'm on a small budget so a full on build isn't realistic but maybe like a mild build or something of the sorts. Oh yeah this is for a daily driven street car.

LMK your suggestions and advice... thanks!

Oh and please include a ballpark price range if you can!

if the cylinders are scratched or rusted have them bored to 81.5mm and get corresponding sized pistons in 9:1. piston selection is all personal preference so get what you want. eagle rods would also be a good idea for the hp goal you're shooting for. if the crank is still good have it balanced and polished. use all new oem bearings, gaskets, seals, etc.

you dont have to go crazy with the build to withstand big hp. you just have to know what you're doing.

To get to 400-500 whp, it is not going to be cheap or very reliable. Not to mention, it wouldn't be that easy to drive on the street and probably would have a tough time using 91 octane. This question would be better answered in the BOOSTED section.

that's why you turn down the boost for street driving
