when i touch the postive cable to the postive side of the battery, is it suppose to spark?

im getting spaks even though the neg. is not connected.

 

Uh that's not a good thing you should have someone professional take a look at it

yes it will spark. everytime you disconnect the battery, remove the negative then the positive. when you reconnect the battery, connect the positive first then the negative (and yes it will spark but its better to spark at the negative post).

no, the positive cables sparks even though the negative is disconnected.

i recently let a shop installed my boost gauge and oil temp gauge.. would an incorrect installtion cause my battery to die out? the gauges light are not always on, i can turn it off with my headlight switch controls.

the positive cable should not spark when it hits the battery if the negative cable is disconnected correct?

 

sounds like you have a bad ground somewhere... if the battery is dying, it could be that. why my battery was dying, it turned out to be the alternator

 

Yea check ur tranny ground and if not that check ur starter and make sure it's in their good or do a rebuild. This recently just happened to me and rebuilt my alternator/starter and checked the grounding......i was just MAKING SURE. But yes, u should get ur power back and startup on the first try. O yea and make sure u get ur battery charged.

 

your batt WILL NOT spark with only putting one cable on (either one) there has to be a complete circuit there has to be somthing grounded to the batt somehow for the + to spark on install maybe your batt also has side posts that has something grounded to it other than that idk

yes, the positive cable should NOT spark when the negative is not connected...
