Default Capacitor AMP troubleshooting, please help

i recently bought a power akoustic capacitor (not really sure if thats a good brand or not) and i charged the cap and installed it correctly as far as i kno and now my amp isnt turning on and i was wondering could this be caused because they share the same ground (i have them both grounded to the same bolt on my cars body) or what else could cause this

We'll be the judge of that. Tell us how it's connected.

No. They can share a ground point.

Ideally the power and ground from the amp should go to the cap then the cap power and ground should go to the car.

That is unless you like ground loops.

lol oh right, well i got it hooked up like this.
the power from the battery goes to the positive end of the capacitor, the negative end is grounded to my cars body. the positive power end of the amp is connected to the positive end of the capacitor and the negative of the amp is grounded through the same bolt on my cars body as the negative end of the capacitor
i checked the fuse in my amp and its good, remote wire is good and so far all wires are connected correctly from the amp, plus the amp was responding correctly before installing the cap.

Make sure you're still getting 12v on the remote wire when the radio is on.

Try connecting the remote wire to power and see if the amp turns on.

well today i tested the voltage on the remote wire and it was receiving 12v so i decided since i had my dvom out i might as well check how charged the cap was, turns out i only had 8 volts on it. so i charged to 12v and made seperate grounds for the cap and amp and now everything is workin fine

so thanx evryone 4 the help

So in other words your cap may not be working now.
Having 12V at the cap does not mean its working.
If you dont know what I mean put a 2kohm resistor in series with the ground of the cap then measure the voltage and see if everything still works.

Well glad to see your happy with this

Tell me what kind of fuse is in the power cable, [at the batt.] and how exactly you charged the cap? 94
