Default too many miles for turbo?

I have a 99 civic si with the original b16a. It has 91.5k miles and i am planning to turbo it this summer so then it will probably have about 95-96k miles. The miles are basically all highway miles because i work about 30 miles away from home and 25 of the miles are on interstate. I plan on getting the turbonetics kit with spearco intercooler. How long will this motor last on 8psi with no internal modifications?

Miles really dont tell if you can or cannot run a turbo. Do a compression test and see if the numbers are with in 10% of each other. Also do a leak down test to make sure your engine is healthy. The stock internals on a B16 can handle 8psi daily and it can be pushed to 12psi (safely) only when tuned right. If you plan on running 8psi with a good tune you should have no problems with the motor for a long time to come.

yep, listen to this guy. I would do a full tune up first though. New plugs, wires, dizzy, flush radiator, new tranny fluid, timing belt, tensioner, and water pump. Also i'd throw in some fuel cleaner and engine restoration. all of this should cost you a good amount so save up your money bro.

i actually did all of that except for the tranny fluid about 2k ago including a greddy timing belt. Also i don't see the need for engine restorer because my friend started using mobil 1 at 15k miles and i've had it since 60k and i have always used mobil 1 also. Also ran atleast 91 octane at all times.

Are you kiding? 90k plus for a Honda engine is nothing. Do what everybody else said and turbo it.

I wouldnt even think twice about turboing a motor at 160k as long as compression is good across the board.
