Hi,

A buddy of mine asked me to help him install springs on his 1.6 EL.

I've done a couple, namely on my 93 240sx and my freind's Saab so I know what I'm doing, but I'm just posting this to make sure that there's nothing special I need to know so that the install goes smoothly.

Can I just use these style spring compressors from the outside, like these, or do I need special ones ? The springs that are being put in are stock so it's gonna be a bit of a bitch so I want to get the right spring compressor. I'm slightly concerned about the rear shocks, beucase on my 240 I just undid them via the rear strut towers but on my buddies Saab it was 10x harder because they didnt even go up to rear strut towers and we had to undo them from the btoom of the car somehow and we had to use like a jack to get them to go back into place.

You may want to check the civic forums. The 98 EL is essentialy a 98 Civic (which added comfort features)
