I noticed that when I start my car up the speedometer jumps up to about 60 kph while the engine is cranking and then goes all the down to zero when the car starts

what could cause a problem like this? possibly a problem in the distributor?

 

I would also look into it being the speed sensor

 

yeah. its a common problem.2 people that had this problem changed the speed sensor and that resolved the problem. mine jumps up and down as well but i never got around to changing it yet.

 

mine does the same thing. Its DEFINATELY the vehicle speed sensor. (the sensor going down into the tranny) if it only does it when you start the car then I wouldnt replace it.

 

it does it while I drive as well, I will probably borrow a friends to see if that is the source of the problem
