Default New car with new problems.

Well i picked up a 95 hatch for free, anyways the guy i got it off of said it had overheated and then he just parked it. I drove it home and the temp gauge was fine and when i got out and looked under the hood the overflow was pissing everywhere. It also has a problem with misfiring i think, when i pull the plugs two of them will be wet and look like they are not firing, so i clean them up and put everything back in and run it and then pull the plugs again it will be misfiring on two different cylinders? Im a little confused with this thing. Also it has a wierd idle problem it will go up and down like 3 times and then steady out, sorry but any help would be awesome. Im not a newb to hondas either, just to this forum, i also have a turbo'd d16z6, o and this motor is a d15b7.

D15b7's are known for blowing headgaskets, seeing as your pushing compression into your cooling system I would say that is your problem.

Huh, i never even thought of that. Would a compression test tell me anything? i know normally it would but if the head gasket is blown in a funny spot then maybe it will still read compression? also are they hard to change? i have done a head gasket be4, just wondering how they are on these motors?

Well i just did a compression test and it read 150 across the board. Im going to try changing the thermostat and the plugs and stuff and see what happens. Can the head gasket be gone still even if the compression is good?

Yes as it won't start to push coolant till it's warm and under pressure during driving.

I'm new to civics, but I have found that it is very difficult to work on my S2000 when the engine is hot.
