Default tie rod end

any one know how im suppose to take off the tie rod because im replacing my old one with a new one but i cant get the old one off

youll definately need some capable air tools as getting those off by hand is a bitch

this isn't what our tie rod looks like, but it's close, this pic is just for reference:


get a wrench, put it on the tie rod, then get another wrench, and loosen the bolt thats at the tie rod end (on the steering arm). on the above pic, it's the left side.

you're going to need a tie rod remover to remove the tie rod from the shock. on the above pic, it's he right side.

tie rod remover:


like this (except keep the bolt on there, threaded a little bit):


no air tools needed, not like you'll be able to use it anyways, only to remove the bolt from the tie rod end.

loosen the lock nut on the tie rod BEFORE you take it out of the steering arm.

oOoo haha the tie rod remover looks cool haha but any who yeah to late now me and my brother couldnt take it off but we tryed using 2 wrenches but no budge. Now i just have to ride it with the ripped boot for a while till i can take it to the shop

its really simple...spray some PB Blaster on there, works great.

sucks that you failed though .

yeah, well that's what the shop is for. they'll get it out for you.

did you buy the replacement? will probably be best to get an alignment after you install it.
