No back speakers in a VP?
I was planning to put aftermarket audio into my car so I didn't really pay close attention but... I noticed the 2 spots in the rear deck were empty?!
The "Value package" only comes with front door speakers and the tweeters up by the dash?? (Don't tell me those are empty too). IIRC the specs online say '4 speaker stereo'... is that what they mean? 2 tweets and 2 door speakers?
Sheesh

Well, if there are no speakers in the rear, and you put your ear next to all 4 speaker positions in the front and you hear audio from each, then yes, their description of "4 speaker stereo" is correct.
However, you can probably add 2 speakers in the rear with minimal problems. I can't imagine that they're running the tweeters off of the other 2 channels on the head unit.
But stranger things have happened... I remember Chevy pickups having door & dash speakers, but when you faded from front to back, the audio went from dash to door...
You might try the same thing. Turn the fader from front to back, and if the audio goes quiet when you fade to the back, then the 4 speakers are run off the front channels. Then, you can find the speaker harnesses that are taped to the underside of the rear deck or tucked up somewhere and plug them into some new speakers....

Yep I peeked under the deck and saw the wiring harnesses, I just wanted someone to confirm that the car actually comes this way stock. Last week I had turned the fader to the rear and noticed it got QUIETER (I didn't fully try the trick of putting it all the way to the rear to see if there was NO sound.. this would have totally proven it, but I wasn't really thinking that I had no rear speakers at the time).
What I was concerned about was that there wasn't even any wiring back there but it should be no problem to just pop in some speakers.
** Does anyone know the speaker size (e.g. 6x9) for the rear deck in an 07 Accord VP?

Anyone know the speaker impedance expected by the radio?
Maybe someone with factory back deck speakers could look at the magnet and check the ratings and impedance?
