Did a search but couldn't find anything solid. Sorry if I missed something!

Are all B-series starters compatible? Specifically, are the contacts inside all compatible? There is no way I'm paying $300 for a new one from Honda!

Most of the plugs are interchangeable. They will physically fit in most cases, but if the starter gear teeth doesn't match the teeth pattern on the flywheel, you may have some issues.

 

AFAIK, all B starter solenoid contacts are the same. Last time i bought the contacts only, IIRC, $3 ea. at local starter/alternator rebuild place.

cable tranny one are dif. from my expierence

 

i know the starter gear teeth differ slightly from US and JDM models, as when people have bought spoon flywheels they occasional have grief

 

'94 and up B series manual should be physically the same, plugs vary by year clusters.

 

Thanks guys, a friend mech told me that some starters aren't rebuildable, if you can't take the end cap off the casing where the solenoid is. Is that true?
