Default JSPEC b16 into 97 ex swap questions?!?!?!?

hey i have a 97 civic ex and im about to buy a jspec b16 obd1 and it comes with everything. my question is, is the driver side mount and obd1 to obd2 harness the ONLY thing ill need? As in hoses will match up, the b16's linkage and axels will work with my civic, my harness plugs will all hook up to the b16, and power steering hose will hook up? THANKS!!!!!

you are going from a d series to a b series which is fine, but you will need all new motor mounts that are from a 99-00 si. You can get them anywhere. You are ordering a jdm motor so you will need alot of sensors that are not included in the american b16a2. The ecu that you have now will not support a jdm b16. You need to get an ecu that is compatable with a b16 and then use your obd 1 to obd 2 conversion harness so that the ecu can read what the sensors are sending to it.

there are alot of sensors you would need, but what is most important is your oil crank sensor which is non existant on the jdm b16... you will need that in order to pass emissions... there are alot of other sensors that are missing as well... if you do not have those sensors... your going to get alot of cel codes because the ecu is not reconzing certain sensors that are in the american b16a2.

You should look into what sensors you will need to get and also know that you have a d series right now and your ecu is not compatable with a b16a2

is the ecu jdm? because if it is...a conversion harness wont do anything for you... you will need an american ecu thats off a 99-00 si

it will, but it wont do anything. you need an american ecu to be legal... no way around it

You will need an obd2a-obd1 conversion harness to plug your stock harness into the P30 ecu (obd1) that comes stock with the B16. You also need to get a rear tranny mount from a civic Si. As long as the motor comes with the part of the mount that bolts to the block under the timing cover, you just reuse the Y8 mount. You will also need Si or delsol Vtec rad hoses. When I put a obd1 B16 in my Ek, the power steering pressure line (the one that goes to the pump) would not work, the bolt pattern and nipple were different (my car is cdn so it may be different). You will either have to get a obd1 pressure line or cut/ weld a new end onto the line (which is what I did).
