B16 SIR II swap>> Need Help
Please before you come in here and say "use the search link" or "you didnt search hard enough" I've been looking and browsing for almost 2 hours now and can not find what I am looking for.
I have a 1998 Honda Civic EX. I know that its an OBD2. I am currently buying a JDM spec B16 SIR II motor and was told that My engine wire harness is a 1 piece. The B16 engine harness is a 2 peice. Is this true. I also need a OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harness as for the B16 ECU is an OBD1. where would I get one and does any one have one for sale that I can ****** up?
I have everything for the swap, Motor, tranny, ECU, axles, shift linkage. But am stuck on a few things. Could I also use any B-series motor mount for this swap. What else am I missing?
Please, any help would be apprecaited. In the mean time I will continue to search.

as far as the obd-1 conversion you can get from your local honda store (depending where youre from) or online. all you need the ecu conversion harness, obd-1 distributer, alternator and ecu (p28)......
i have a jdm sir II b16a in my car now and it came with original 1 piece jdm harness. but you use can use your obd-2 harness. you just need the stuff i listed above to convert it.
good luck with your swap.

like ricky posted also as far as the mounts and throttle body. make sure it is a ex model with the vtec harness on it also or else you get the plug and run the wires to the ecu.

OMG my brain hurts. Swaps are harder than I thought.
Here is what I have
98 civic EX with VTEC
What I am going to buy
-JDM B16 SIR II
-Tranny
-Shift linkage
-ECU
-Everything that a motor is supposed to have ( alt, stater, Intake mani, blah blah blah ) The motor COMPLETE. The guy I'm buying it from currently has it in his EG and its flawless.
I know i needed an ECU conversion harness. OBD2-OBD1 correct? I know I will need motor mounts. I don't want to start cutting into wires. I want everything to plug right up. Bolt right in. I dont care what I have to buy.
I now have a MASSIVE headache. LOL

your obd2 vtec harness
obd2 intake maniold
obd2 alternator
obd2 injectors
obd2 distributor
knock sensor wire unless ur gonna run a p28 ecu
obd2-obd1 pigtail harness
your stock shift linkage
if u get all these parts it will be plug in play but if not u will have to cut n rewire ur harness..that should be simple enough right??

OKAY LETS CLEAR SOME THINGS UP:
-use ur stock EX wire harness, splice the obd-1 injector clips and alternator clip to it
-get an obd-2 distributor OR splice the obd-1 clip to your harness
-you need 99-00 civic Si rear T-bracket and 99-00 civic Si upper driver side post mount bracket
-get obd2a to obd1 jumper harness
-use ALL OF YOUR STOCK RUBBER MOUNTS
-you already have b-series axles/ecu/linkage
done.
