Default F22 Header

hey guys i searched and everything but im still confused about getting a header for my f22

my question is that i know h23 fits but what modifications would i have to do besides extending the o2 sensor. When i was searching i found a thread that said something with the downpipe needed to be modified.

So people with a f22 header could you post pics/explain what you did

I am confused about what you want to do here. Are you trying to use an F22 or H23 header or a mix match system? Is it going on a F22 or H23? Why not just buy a header for that motor?

its for an f22

i can not find a f22 header except for those for accords
so i searched here and people said megan h23 header. Now im wondering is it just a direct bolt on besides the fact that you have to extend the 02 sensor

so if anyone with an f22 what header do you have i was thinking about purchasing one on ebay

on their website they only have
Honda Prelude 92-96 Si
Honda Prelude 92-96 Vtec

So im thinking to get the prelude si one. Will that be a direct fit?

is your o2 sensor on the header at the top, or on the downpipe behind the block? the megan headers have the o2 down behind the block, so you may or may not have to extend wires, but thats simple.

either way, an H23 header for an Si or an F22 header for an accord would be a direct bolt on and fit perfectly.

It should be. People only have problems it sounds like when they try to put a h22 header in their car that originally had an h23 in it and the original exhaust.

My o2 sensor hole is on the header, not on the downpipe.

H22 and F22 share a header. The H23 head has a different exhaust port setup but with the help of a drill you can get a DSM turbo manifold to fit the H23. Get the H22 header and enjoy the neck snapping power.

Nope. I know the H22 header is nowhere close to either the H23 or the F22 exhaust ports. Now I don't recall if the H23 and F22 are close enough to be swappable, they might be.

To answer your question about what header I have.

No the F22 in the Prelude, 92-96. F22a1. I am not sure if the accord headers are the correct length.

Well Ill tell you that I have an H23 in my Prelude and an F22 in my accord. I bought a DC header before I had my Prelude and ordered an H22 header that fits fine. When my H23 needed a header I looked at the accord to use its header but they are completely different. I am assuming that you are talking about the F22a motor that came in your Prelude S model. If that is the case then the F22a header is the same as the H22 header, look at the diagrams in the middle of this page. The H23 and F22b exhaust ports are siamesed and the H22 and F22a are not.

Did you even look at the exhaust ports?
F22a1- 0-0-0-0
H22a- 0-00-0
F22b- 0-00-0

The H22a1 and f22a1 exhaust ports are not close in the least. It will line up with the F22b series motors alot closer than with the F22a series.

Ok sorry to hijack the thread but I also have a question. I have a 93 Prelude S (F22A1) what header should I buy that will fit, since ebay only sells SI and H22 headers? Also is the catbacks all the same for 92-96 preludes?

The catbacks should be the same. The only real difference is the exhaust ports and that the h22 header is a different length than the other 2.
