ok this is the thing, i just did a motor swap for my friend in his honda accord. theoriginal motor was a single cam non vtec f22. on the internet we had purchased a JDM f22b DOHC motor. i got it in just fine, everyting went well and i can get it to turn over. there is no spark when i pull the spark plug out to check, and i changed the rotor but it is still not sparking. i was wondering if there is something that i missed. please anyone that can help it would be much appreciated.

 

Check your grounds first.

 

did and all of them are good. what about a fuse in the fuse box underneath the hood

 

Wouldnt hurt to check all fuses, but probably something small you forgot or overlooking. Are you using correct ECU?

 

yup, a obd1 h23 ecu. they also are made for the internal coil pack inside of the distributor, and i looked around, and that is what they use with motors to.

 

Check your ignitor.....these go out all the time

 

what is the ignitor and where is it located and how much would it cost, and where can i get one? at any auto parts store?

 

The igniter is inside the distributor. It is the flat piece with all the connections on top.

 

would just have to take a ohm meter to it to see if it any good? i think that i got it, thanks

 

i think that i figured out my problem, i put a external coil packm wiring harness on a internal coil pack motor. it is not producing no spark because of this. someone tell me if this could be my problem, i am very sure of it!
