Tomorrow is the big day, before school and work I'm swapping my stock head for a freshly rebuilt ported and polished one. Also going on is a JG intake mani to match the 64mm JG tb, a much needed oil change, and an overall easy straightforward install.
I figured I'd get ahead to minimize down time, so I took off the valve cover for a fresh coat of paint. That way tomorrow I don't have to paint it in the middle of uninstalling/installing everything and waiting for it to dry, etc.
I cleaned the surface of the head, put a garbage bag over it and proceeded to clean the vc. Warm soap and water first to get the oil off, with a can of aircraft stripper right next to me that melts the paint right off. Wouldn't you know as soon as I go to pick up the vc by its side, it snaps right off. Unfortunetely it's not the side next to the cam gears, it's the side with the cam seal that will spew oil all over the place.
Now I have no car, no way to get it to the shop tomorrow, nor school or work, and ironically I've ordered 2 other vc's that both came cracked in the mail. I've called all around and no auto store carries them, and I am not about to go to the stealership and pay $200+ for one (lack of funds as well). I've also been looking in HT's classifieds and Ebay but still have no luck...especially considering I would preferably need it by tonight or tomorrow.
Where else should I look if I need one urgently? I commute to college and I currently only have 3 weeks left, I can't afford to miss any classes

try going to an import shop or any shop and ask if you can borrow/buy a valve cover from some one's motor.....if you were in CA, I actually have 2 valve covers that I'm not using at this moment.

I'm hoping someone on here that is close to me may come and save the day lol...I know of a few Import Shops but they are all 25+ minutes away, I can try to give them a call and see if they can help me out or point me in the right direction...thanks
