Installing short shifter, have a question
What sort of grease should I use for the ball joint? Is a multipurpose grease good? It's about the only thing my Helms manual doesn't tell me about the shifter.

bearing grease should be fine. the white grease he is refering to is lithium grease. just make sure on the can it says it is ok for rubber or it will eat up the dust boot

So that white grease is ok? I have a bottle of that stuff from Acura so that would be perfect.

I just applied some grease from my can of Coastal petroleum bearing grease I have laying around, no probs in 9+ months.
