ok as some of you know, i got into an accident and well one of the thing needed to get replaced is the radiator.. should i go with a stock one or a fluidyne? whats the benefits of an aftermarket one? also im hoping ot be able to get a jdm front end out of this so id prefer to get the cheaper one , but what ever......
thanks
thanks
Fluidyne. Thats what I have. Because the stock one, its gonna run you like $300 from Acura. So might as well spend $50 more and get a polished Aluminum Fluidyne.
Check and ask around for a used one in the classifieds and on ebay. You also might wanna look at what Import Auto Salvage has.

I wouldn't pay more than $110 for a used Integra radiator. Prices have averaged out to around $100 for a used one, and been pretty steady in price fluxation.

Acura ones are plastic capped on the top and bottom. They are prone to cracking (albeit mine didn't crack until 116k!). You can get one from http://www.1888radiator.com/ for $141 and it's the same quality as OEM (have one here next to me).
Or the solid aluminum Fluidyne. It's very sweet and won't crack. Costs a little more though.

I can also look into C&R radiators. They're located in Indianapolis and just an hour away from me. I gotta go to the Ack dealer today and pick up some parts. I'll stop by.

You can get *nice* stock radiators from junkyards for $75-$90. If you can afford the Fluidyne go with it however. The stock units all separate at the tank seam. They are lovely under-engineered pieces of **** so if you can stay away from them do so. Even the ITR radiator is built in the same fashion so it too is subject to this failure.
One thing to remember about the Fluidyne is that it only has bosses for 1 fan. If you have A/C still you will probably want to have someone TIG weld a second set of bosses or come up with another method of mounting the fan.

ahh i see you have a GSR your fine (: if you had an AUTO tranny you would need a special radiator with an Auto TRanny cooler in the bottom of it
Or just get an additional tranny cooler.
I'm very happy with my Fluidyne. However, unless you need the additional cooling capacity (which, of course, I don't), you might be better served replacing it with a stock-like radiator. The Fluidyne sure is pretty, though. I was lucky enough to have bought mine when they were on special: $272, shipped to my door.
One thing to keep in mind about the Fluidyne is that it is wider than the Oem radiator... If you want to use a large turbo you are going to have to relocate your fans in front of the Radiator so they push instead of pull.

do yourself a favor.. and buy a B&B radiator. Their number is (214) 341 3000. I have had one on my b20/vtec for 3yrs + and that thing has done nothing but good. they have a lifetime warranty also, and they only cost less than $100 shipped to you... Im sure. Do not spend $300+ on a fluidyne when this B&B radiator will do the same job. Trust me. They are great radiators.
You definately do not need higher cooling capacity. It will do you nothing.
