Default New motor, rough idle, lots of smoke.

Im trying to figure out why my motor is burning so much gas, I'll have it on for maybe 20 seconds and the whole garage will be full of gas fumes, where should i start looking? This is a d16a6 with a jrsc. The idle is also really rough.

Maybe you can post up your entire set up...so we can help. Without it, we're simply guessing.
what injectors? fuel pump? ecu? Any internal mods? Do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

Hey man, I switched out my engine too and had that same problem. two thing caused that to be happening for me. 1 was the map sensor and two for the rough idle was caused by the cold start . . . there is a plastic screw like thing in it that has a bad habit of backing out. I pulled it down and had put silicone so it wont do that any more and screwed it all the way back in . . . check those out and see if that what causeing it . . .

Post your setup please.

But my guess is:

Too much fuel from bad tuning of setup, so much fuel it bogs at idle real bad.

Pull your plugs, they wet from gas?

Duh there is your problem. Just get that **** tuned and you won't have an issue at all.

Are you running stock ECU?

It's not even drivable right now to get it tuned. Stock ecu right now, I will be changing that and having it tuned but I didn't want to have to tow it anywhere.

Yeah...Whenever you do anything that major, you must get a tune...If you even change the cams.....TUNE IT! You're never gonna run right with that setup until you get a lot of work done.
