options, choices....
hi hows it going my names dave im new here. i dont have my honda yet but soon i will.
so i think im going to start out with a base model, 1988 crx, based on weight and insurance cost. i figured im going to upgrade most everything anyway so why get a sport model.
my friend has a b20 and tranny that he can sell me for $600.
i'm drawn to centrifugal superchargers for some reason. i like the way they work, and it seems i would enjoy the car alot making around 300 horses at 2000 pounds. i've seen it done but i hear you need to dent the rear of the engine bay in a bit to get it to work. im not looking for a 10 second car, as it will be my first modified fast car.
if i were to supercharge the b20 the engine would obviously be rebuilt and sleeved. i want the car to run at about 9 psi daily, but i want the engine built to handle turning it up at the drag strip.
also installing nos...
another option is a turbo b20.
i was also checking out the b18 and h22. i think i might have traction issues with a boosted h22, and it'd be a bit of a pig around corners, which isnt what im looking for in a car.
any opinions on what is a good engine for an 1988 crx as a street car/weekend dragster?

I didn't think that money was an issue since you didn't put it on your post. Do you have an idea how much you'll spend to build a bulletproof b20? Sleeving, blueprint, rods, pistons, headwork, header, turbo/supercharger, ecu/fuel management, tuning, labor??

hence, I suggested a Type R
