pacesetter exhaust any good? worth my time?
I finally got my 89 crx legal after nearly a year of battling the state, and I am looking to upgrade/replace a few bad components. The car has a d15b vtec motor in it and it runs like a champ, but the exhaust has a few holes in it (it appears to be the stock factory exhaust, with 250k miles on it). I did replace the stock exhaust manifold with an el cheapo header from ebay, but it is surprisingly well built, stainless with very thick flanges. I was looking at the pacesetter exhaust found here

since it is cheap and i can pick it up locally. As for the catalytic converter, well ive got another year to worry about an emissions test, so I was thinking about either swapping it for a 28 dollar high flow model from ebay or a "test pipe/resonator" for about the same price just for kicks. I would just have to swap the cat back in if needed for emissions tests correct?
so total cost for me would be a hair over 200 dollars.
Now the real question.. am i going to notice the difference? I absolutely dont want loud (my other rex is stock except for a flowmaster muffler and huge tip the previous owner installed and it sounds awful). The sound my motor makes by itself is more than enough fun for me without a can of bees chasing me. Will I be able to feel any actual power difference though by swapping it out or will this just give me 200 dollars less weight in my pocket?
Thanks!!

I had a pacesetter on a civic a bought a while ago it was garbage less then 6 months later. If i was you id look into other exhaust systems, or if your funds are running low wait an buy a well built one. Im personal running a dc sports exhaust on my crx an cant complain a bit
Yea i've heard bad things about pace setter from a lot of people, never personally ran it. I had a buddy ran greddy on his crx and it sounded very nice, quiet when not at WOT, and didn't sound rice, sounded mean.
My main concern is cheap... i dont have that much invested in the car right now, outside of tons of labor. The ehxuast isnt killing me right now, and it did pass emissions, but if i can get an extra kick in the pants for no more than 250 total, then I will go for it.
Thanks for the help so far!
