I know this thread is a little bit old, but would you still be able to pass inspection with an obdI ecu? B/c doesn't the division of motor vehicles have to hook a scan tool up to the ecu for a readiness code, ecspecially if it is an OBDII vehicle? Doing the same swap so i am pretty curious as well, thanks!

Yes, but if you want VTEC you have to wire it up or use an EX harness.
