Hey, I'm new here and honestly quite new to the mechanics of cars too. I own a 2000 Civic VP and I want to start an engine build now so that when the stock engine running it now dies I'm ready to put it up on the cutting block and really put some power into it. Problem is that everything I want to do is really not baked up by a whole lot info so I need to know the problems before I start working on this thing

I'm thinking I'll build a 3.0 liter VTEC DOHC V6 w/ 24 valves, Sequential Multi-Port Fuel Injection and a beefed up fuel pump. Ceramic cylinder head covering. Bigger air filter. I'll probably use a supercharger to reduce lag instead of a turbo, Headers. Larger diameter exhaust.....and yeah expletive the muffler. Cold spark plugs and I'll advance the timing on the ignition sequence just a bit, though I'll definatly have to play with that a while until I get it right. I'm also gonna need a beefy radiator and intercooler not to mention a new tranny and a performance chip while I'm at it

My mistake is that I originally took this to a bunch of Chevy/Ford rednecks who love to gangbang on Honda so all I got was "That's the biggest load of bullshit n00b!" comments without one piece of <U>constructive</U> criticism. So, while it may well be the biggest load of bullshit, please tell me why so I can change and plan accordingly. It's the only way I'm ever gonna learn this stuff

 

Umm yea.... Putting a V6 into a Civic is no small task. You're better off going with a supercharged or turbocharged B18/B20.
