Sounds like you might have ABS, if thats true you have to ditch the ABS to go with a 40/40 prop.

so the 40/40 is an abs prop valve......which one do i need then?

if i keep my stock booster and get a 15/16th master from a 91 civic, will i keep my same prop valve?

not all 40/40s are abs...just most
you could use one from an RS, an em1 or ek hatch, del sol si

The prop valve "proportionalizes" the fluid, the MC just pushes the fluid around. Its not like "one has to go with the other" Its just the option.
Really, you can get away with not changing the prop at all (i would/did though)

Hmm good to know...I'm at the stage of redoing my brakes aswell.

I guess I'll look into a RS then.

Use an RS, they did not come with ABS.

Care to post a pic of a 40/40 prop valve? I did a swap on my del sol S to del sol VTEC brakes all the way around and I dont know if I have a 40/40 or not.

Does the S already have a 40/40?

I beleive its a DA rs valve, actually
try searching for it (going to be difficult since you need at least 3 letters for search though)

edit**
S is not 40/40

Is a 40/40 really worth getting?

I've searched around the brake conversion threads, but it doesnt say much.

OP: yes for a 15/16th MC you can get it from the 91 honda civic sedan EX. Will bolt right up and all lines will be in the right place.

As far as prop valve I still use the one that came on my 92 cx and have no problems with my 4 wheel disc brakes. It is not neccessary. I hear it gives a little better pedal feel.

My brakes are just fine.
