alright just wanted to know does it sound alright?? and whats the most common reason i am blowing smoke?

i am blowing white smoke when WOT but doesnt when idling or driving normally, i was told the most common reason b/c of piston rings and blow headgasket. cuz you can taste and smell sweat from the exhaust w/no cat.

most commonly a blown headgasket, as you said, you can smell and almost taste the sweet coolant burning.

those compression numbers seems pretty low for an itr. i just compression checked my gsr at 230 across the board. somethingg is amiss.

When it comes to compression tests, the main thing to look for is variances between each cylinder. IMO, your compression looks okay.

You never said if you checked your coolant level. Are you having to add any?

Do a leak down test.

Thanks alot for the reply, ive been dying to get my motor checked out. and thanks for taking some of your time to read my thread

Yes, it have been eating alot of coolant but lately not as of much for some reason coolant still the same. well maybe cuz i added water in the coolant a 2-3 weeks ago. I do regularly check oil and coolant because it eats that up.

It eats oil, 2 weeks time ill have to add about half quart or a bit more. I mean it is my daily and gets driven every single day.

I have a good friend of a freind that will be rebuilding the motor. Just new top and bottom oem seals and etc.

He told me because of the miles i have on it, The cylinders shouldnt be oval, if oval maybe slightly he says, and just drop new rings. BUT i got a awesome deal not to long ago for new oem jdm itr std size pistons and oem rings w/ acl bearings for 120. But as i come up wiht the money ill have the motor apart and see what i need before i buy more junk

60K is not a lot of miles for a B-series. How well it is maintained is the biggest factor.

I would suspect that you cylinders are probably fine with good compression numbers. Looks like the head gasket could be a problem as well as oil control rings.

Take the radiator cap off, start the car and let it warm up. Check for bubbles in the radiator.

THanks again, i will do that, tomorrow and ill post it here if it bubbles or not. let me know what that means. This is my favorite forum of h-t b/c we all share some similarities especially when its motor specific.

not a big show off but id like to share a few pictures of where the itr motor is kepted in. I LOVE THE B18c5 It's soo sweet out the fatory.

ur compression numbers are good bro, they are all within 15psi which is normal. dont rush into building ur motor because it sounds like u have minor issues to deal with. U say ur car smells and its burning coolant?? check ur water pump, head gasket, etc..

Just to compare with my motor:
mine had a coolant smell and it was my water pump leaking...it was replaced under warranty. Also, my car smells just a tad when u first start it in the morning, i think its normal. my car doesnt have any leaks of any sort and it does not burn a drop of oil. btw my compression numbers were a lil less than yours but all within 1-3psi so im not worried

bottom line.....dont jump the gun
