Default junkyard turbo rex question

ive already started my rex turbo. im using the dsm t25 turbo with the dsm 450cc injectors. The only thing i need now is what can i use for my engine management? ive heard of turboedit but it seems too confusing to use. then ive heard of the apexi safc but its a little too expensive. is it possible to just chip my ecu and drive it around for a little while, then bring it to someone to tune it? is there anything wrong with driving it around with just a chipped pm6? Im only going to run 8-10 psi

You can chip it with a basemap then take it to a tuner, but I wouldn't drive around for a long time on a basemap.

to drive it to the guy that was going to tune it for me, was about a 30 minute drive on the highway. is that too long of a drive? or should i have him meet me at my house? will my car be driving funny such as jerking or anything?

you need to check out homemadeturbo.com and then some reading on the turboedit site

No way! TurboEdit is probably one of the easiest tuning programs to use. Free too. All you need is a USB Chip Burner (Check out MOATES on ebay) and some blank 27CF512 chips.

Don't forget your solder tool. You need to add a ZIF socket to your ECU.

And you should do fine on a highway drive. If you use TurboEdit, then adjust your fuel charts for 450cc injectors, as long as you keep the motor out of boost you should be fine.

Also, check out this website : xenocron.com/bins/

It's got a bunch of BINs that people have already made and tuned. You can probably luck out and find someone else that's made a similar tune for your car. If all else fails, take someones bin, tweak the fuel tables a little, add a little more fuel, and retard the timing a degree or two more throughout boost. You'll lose power, but it'll be safer.
